Sam Ash Music to Reportedly Close 18 Stores Nationwide
Sam Ash Music is reportedly set to close 18 of its 45 stores nationwide, including locations in Midtown Manhattan, its Clearwater, Florida, store and its sole Connecticut location.
According to the St. Pete Catalyst, employees have been seen hanging liquidation sale signs and “everything must go” banners at the storied Clearwater building that is owned by Armadillo Enterprises’ Pamela Rubinson and leased to Sam Ash Music. The outlet also reported that an unnamed employee shared that the location would indeed be closing.
Further north in New Haven, Connecticut, the New Haven Register reported that Sam Ash’s only Connecticut store would be closing as well, with the store manager confirming the closure to the outlet, adding the store employees some 11 people and will shutter in May.
Sam Ash Music has not yet commented on the closings. Sam Ash Music is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2024. This story is developing.
