Rick Turner Guitars Reports Company Is in ‘Full Production Mode’
In April 2022, legendary luthier Rick Turner passed away. Despite his passing, Rick Turner Guitars and the Renaissance Guitar Company are still going strong and in full production mode.
The brands are still building Model One guitars, Renaissance guitars, Electroline guitars and Model T guitars, as well as basses and custom models, including a resurrection of Jerry Garcia’s Peanut guitar.
“Rick had the foresight to establish the business as a corporation with shareholders and board of directors, most of whom are still actively involved in the business,” said Scott Cooper, office manager for Rick Turner Guitars and the Renaissance Guitar Company. “He also weened himself from most of the production over the years, leaving most of the production to a crack crew of veteran luthiers who Rick personally trained. All of our current production crew were trained by Rick, including production manager Zack Jones. In the office, I have been here for six years under Rick’s tutelage and continue to manage the daily operations. Bottom line: There is very little that has changed other than Rick’s creative oversight and vision.”
