Pioneer DJ Makes Donation to Girls Make Beats
AlphaTheta Music Americas’ Pioneer DJ brand has outfitted the Girls Make Beats (GMB) Miami chapter with new studio-grade equipment. The donation enables GMB artists to learn how to DJ and solidify their skills on industry-standard equipment.
Sisterhood, empowerment, leadership and mentorship are all encompassed within Girls Make Beats, a nonprofit organization focused on providing young females with the opportunity to explore their musical talents, while expanding the female presence of music producers, DJs, and audio engineers. The organization provides girls ages 5–17 with educational seminars, summer camps, industry panels and networking events with a focus on real-world industry experience.
Pioneer DJ has provided multiple products, including the DDJ-REV1 Scratch-Style 2-Channel DJ Controllers, an easy-to-use, battle-style controller which is ideal for learning to play like a professional. Additionally, multiple DM-50D Studio Monitors have been provided.
The donation of these products will provide the organization with attainable and intuitive solutions. The ease of use the technology provides will allow the young women, no matter their musical levels or backgrounds, to practice their mixing and scratching skills while simultaneously growing their passion and experiencing empowerment through DJing.
“Having the right equipment to learn on is crucial, and this collaboration provides that opportunity,” said Tiffany Miranda, president and founder of Girls Make Beats. ”The girls not only have access to top of the line gear, but it’s also the same equipment they could find at a potential venue, which will build their confidence as artists, as audio professionals, and as industry leaders.”
Pioneer DJ’s donation to GMB marks the second philanthropic collaboration with the organization. Prior to its work with GMB Miami, the company constructed a performance studio, complete with the latest Pioneer DJ equipment, for GMB’s Los Angeles chapter.
“Pioneer DJ is extremely passionate about its commitment to giving back to the industry,” said John Powell, president of AlphaTheta Music Americas. “Our donations to Girls Make Beats does just that by ensuring there are equal opportunities for young aspiring female artists to expand their musical skill sets,”
