NAMM Foundation Offers Free Webinar
The NAMM Foundation, along with its partners and music teachers, is offering a free webinar titled Bridging the Gap: Teaching and Learning Music Online, in response to closures of music stores due to coronavirus. The event will take place on March 18 at 9 a.m. PDT/12 p.m. EDT
The event will cover topics including how to be more comfortable teaching online, how to create lesson plans for online learning and where you can look for free and intuitive resources as a teacher and learner.
“As the restrictions of this time unfold, we share in the disappointments over the cancellations or postponements of festivals, concerts, student honors ensembles and performances and so many other music-making gatherings,” wrote Mary Luehrsen, executive director of The NAMM Foundation, on the events registration page. “The power of music is amplified through the events we share — be it as performers, learners or audience members.”
NAMM is encouraging attendees to include #musicislife in their posts of music teaching, learning or performing.
You can register for the event here. The number of attendees is limited to 5,000. A recording of the webinar will also be available at nammfoundation.org with links to resources shared.
