Music Centre Purchases Légère Reeds
Légère Reeds has joined the Music Center family and is now wholly owned by Music Centre S.r.l.
Founded in 1998, the company began in the basement of Guy Légère’s family home in Barrie, Canada. The first reeds were cut one at a time on a hand-built CNC machine. Today, Légère’s 35 highly skilled staff work together to produce hundreds of thousands of reeds each year in its 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art production facility.
In a company statement, Légère Reeds said “this decision is a significant milestone in our journey, [and] we want to assure everyone that the essence of what makes Légère Reeds a trusted name remains unchanged. Our commitment to innovation and delivering consistent, quality products to our customers remains our top priority.”
Légère Reeds will continue manufacturing and supplying reeds from its facility in Canada. Management, account and artist teams will be staying intact and continuing to lead and innovate as normal.
Légère Reeds’ statement continued: “Music Center shares our vision, and they believe in our mission. You can expect to see an even stronger emphasis on research and development, increased support for our artists and distributors, and enhanced customer engagement. We’re also ramping up our capital expenditures to fuel these initiatives.”
