Key Leaves Partners with Better Sax, Includes Accessory with Instrument Purchase

Woodwind accessory maker Key Leaves has partnered with alto saxophone manufacturer Better Sax to include its flagship Key Leaves care product with every new saxophone purchase. Designed by Jay Metcalf, YouTube saxophone educator and founder of BetterSax.com, the Better Sax alto saxophone is, according to a statement from the company, “a strikingly styled instrument built to last and priced affordably.”

“We are excited to offer the Key Leaves care product with each Better Sax because by using this simple device players will free themselves from sticky keys and increase the longevity of their pads,” Metcalf said. “I was skeptical about Key Leaves at first, but quickly realized how much of a positive impact they have. I now use them on all my saxophones.”

Better Sax will include Key Leaves’ product inside each case, building on the trend of discerning companies adding Key Leaves to their offerings. Previously, band repair product maker Ferree’s Tools, sax makerTenor Madness, saxophone store Sax.co.uk and others have product bundled with Key Leaves or co-branded to feature their logo directly on product.

Key Leaves saxophone key props prevents sticky saxophone pads by leaving keys open to dry after play. The soft leaf-shaped props safely open sax keys to air dry, preventing water damage and sticking key malfunction. That helps improve playability, lower repair costs and reduce health risks associated with moldy rotten pads.
