Jordan Kitt’s Music has added Bob Novak as its director of education for the greater Washington D.C. market. He will report to Chris Syllaba, president and CEO of Jordan Kitt’s Music, which is headquartered in Rockville, Maryland.
Novak earned both his Bachelor and Master of Music from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University with a specialty in performance and education. He received an Emmy nomination for Best Documentary for composition and recording of PS Dance, highlighting education in New York City public schools.
Since 2014, Novak has owned and operated Red Bridge Studios, a facility dedicated to recording and music education. The studio is a premier vocal arts and piano studio producing hundreds of recordings encompassing classical, jazz, opera, R&B and more.
As a classical percussionist, Novak has performed with major symphonies and performed as a soloist throughout Europe. He performed with Pressing Strings between 2009–2016 sharing the stage with the Beach Boys and other touring bands. In addition to performing, Novak is an educator and has taught at Morgan State University, Howard Community College and University of Maryland.
“It is an honor to join Jordan Kitt’s Music,” Novak said. “I am energized by the passion, talent and potential I have seen — from the new Workhouse Arts Center studio and the more established studios in Fairfax and Rockville, to the development potential of the Beltsville Music School. The greatest asset we have is our team of talented instructors. Together, we can redefine what it means to be a music school into whatever we desire it to be.”
