John Hornby Skewes & Co. Founder Passes Away

John H. Skewes, founder of U.K.-based John Hornby Skewes & Co. (JHS), passed away on Sept. 4. He was 90.
Born in 1933, Skewes was a sales professional, marketer and ideas man who had worked in the MI industry starting in January 1960 and eventually went on to found John Hornby Skewes & Co. Ltd. in October 1965. He worked for the business he founded until retiring in March 2016.
“A mentor to many, John Skewes exhibited the kind of Yorkshire grit, tenacity, determination and sheer hard work, which is famous for overcoming adversity, producing tremendous success and being an example for all to learn from,” said a statement from Dennis and Linda Drumm, the company’s executive chairman and director.
