Jim D’Addario Sells Rare Guitars on Reverb for D’Addario Foundation
Jim D’Addario, who recently transitioned to positions as chief innovation officer and chairman of the board at D’Addario, is selling items from his rare guitar collection on Reverb staring today. All proceeds from The Official Jim D’Addario Reverb Guitar Collection will be donated to the D’Addario Foundation.
Through a personalized approach, the 501c3 non-profit D’Addario Foundation provides support to music education programs bringing children access to instrument instruction throughout the country. The D’Addario Foundation also provides equipment support, performance and learning opportunities, college scholarships and fundraising assistance.
“I have more than 50 awesome guitars in my collection, and unfortunately, I find I am not playing most of them,” said Jim D’Addario. “Out of feeling guilty that some of these great guitars are not being played regularly and a desire to continue to support music education in a major way, I have decided to start the first round of selling some of my collection.”
Fourteen guitars from Jim’s collection will be sold in the shop beginning today, including a 1919 C.F. Martin 00-42 and a 1956 D’Angelico Excel Archtop.
