Industry Veteran Mark Terry to Retire
Mark Terry has announced his retirement after a long-spanning career in the MI industry of more than 35 years. Terry will retire from his role as JAM US Music Group CEO and KMC Music president on September 30, 2023.
From Harman and JBL to Fender and, most recently KMC Music, Terry has helped to drive growth, inspire teams, and push the boundaries of technological and creative possibilities.
At Harman, where Terry served in many positions, including president of Harman Pro Group, he played an instrumental role in shaping the company’s global dominance in audio technology. Under his leadership, Harman forged strategic partnerships, embraced emerging trends, and delivered products that enriched the lives of countless music enthusiasts.
He followed his long tenure at Harman as an executive for Fender, which led him to his initial involvement with KMC Music. Over the last eight years, Terry has overseen an important evolution for KMC Music, evolving it from a legacy distributor to an enterprise built to thrive in the changing marketplace. As CEO of JAM US Music Group, he also headed up Marshall USA and Davitt & Hanser.
“Mark has been an exceptional leader, guiding JAM US Music Group to new heights during some especially challenging times,” said Stuart Frenkel, CEO of Exertis | JAM. “We thank him for his vision and leadership. The foundation that he built has set us up for the future.”
Beyond his roles within various companies, Terry recently served as a member of the NAMM board.
Upon Terry’s retirement, James Tsaptsinos, a veteran of the Jam US Music Group for more than 12 years, has been promoted to the role of general manager and vice president at Jam US Music Group.
