Hal Leonard’s Keith Mardak, Mary Vandenberg Donate $5.25M to Milwaukee School
Former Hal Leonard CEO Keith Mardak and his wife, Mary Vandenberg, who served as Hal Leonard’s former VP of business affairs, recently donated $5.25 million to Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy, which will help enable the completion of the school’s middle school project and establish state-of-the-art recording studios at both the middle and high school campuses.
This donation makes Mardak and Vandenberg the largest single contributors to the academy’s capital campaign, which is aiming to raise $35 million. In recognition of their generosity, the academy has named its middle school the Mardak-Vandenberg Campus.
“We are great believers in projects that help kids, and as we learned more about the project, we got to asking what was required financially,” Mardak told the Milwaukee Business Journal. “We talked about it and said we’d make the commitment, which we did.”
The recording studios are being developed in collaboration with Notes for Notes, a Nashville-based nonprofit that specializes in creating and managing after-school recording spaces.
