Government Grants More Money for Small Business Relief, NAMM Reacts

Today, President Trump approved a $484 billion package

to prop up small businesses and hospitals impacted by the coronavirus crisis and expand testing, put forth by Congress.

The new legislation will bring the government’s total emergency response to more than an unprecedented $2.5 trillion. Of this, $350 billion will go toward the small business aid program that ran out of money last week. NAMM is urging small business owners to apply for funding.

“We strongly urge NAMM members and associated contractors and gig workers to pursue relief funding available via the PPP, EIDL and other programs as we move through this unprecedented public health and economic crisis,” stated Mary Luehrsen, NAMM’s Director of Public Affairs and Government Relations. “These programs offer a bridge to sustainability as NAMM members and others in the audio and event technology businesses navigate this time. Our creative industry sector is vital to the revival of our economy, and, surely, to critical learning and vibrant experiences that all people are craving now more than ever.”
