D’Addario Announces 3 Brands Now Stringing with XS
D’Addario has announced that Eastman, Lakewood and Cole Clark guitar brands are now stringing their instruments with D’Addario’s XS.
Like Taylor Guitars, Eastman, Lakewood and Cole Clark have now joined the growing list of acoustic guitar makers and independent luthiers who have embraced XS as their preferred string. Each company highlights distinct reasons for choosing XS, citing its numerous benefits.
Pepijn ‘t Hart, director of fretted instruments at Eastman, praised XS’s longevity and natural feel.
“We believe D’Addario XS is the best acoustic string available today, making it a natural choice for all our acoustic guitars,” Hart said. “XS is perhaps the first coated string that feels as natural as an uncoated string, while significantly extending its lifespan. This is simply revolutionary.”
“We specifically chose XS because it creates a synergy with our instruments, bringing out the tonal characteristics of a Lakewood guitar in the best possible way,” said Markus Hoppe, CEO of Lakewood Guitars. “From bass to treble, the tones are reproduced naturally, individually, and in the overall sound.”
“After an extensive six-month testing period against all other long-life strings on the market, we found that D’Addario’s XS break far less, sound the best, do not fray around the sound hole, and hold tune better than any other string,” said Miles Jackson, CEO of Cole Clark. “To the people at D’Addario, thank you for making our favorite strings.”
