Bach to Rock Opens New Maryland Location

Bach to Rock has opened a new school in Severna Park, Maryland, and has invited the local community to a free event on Nov. 17, from 12–4 p.m., at the new location. Attendees can participate in tours and information sessions, check out the recording studio, enjoy performances, and try out free mini lessons. Plus, guests can enter to win a free instrument.

“We couldn’t be more excited to open our newest school in Severna Park. The area is perfectly situated between Annapolis and Baltimore, and it is very family-oriented with a small-town feel. We bring the right vibe, energy and most importantly, our unique music curriculum, which is sure to enrich the music and arts programs available to students there,” said Brian Gross, Bach to Rock’s president. “Janice and John live in the area and are eager to bring something new to the community. Janice is passionate about music, is a working musician who plays the electric guitar and sings in a band, so she has valuable know-how to share with her students. Her expertise as a successful real estate manager, combined with her hands-on experience in music, make her an ideal leader for Bach to Rock Severna Park.”

John and Janice Hariadi are the husband-and-wife team at the helm of Bach to Rock Severna Park. Janice is the onsite director and manager of daily operations, while John is active behind the scenes.

“I have been chasing the dream of opening my own music school and helping young musicians for many years,” Janice said. “Throughout my career in real estate and working as a part-time musician, this goal has always been a source of motivation.”

John Hariadi, a retired veteran, recognizes Bach to Rock as an opportunity to help veterans and active-duty service members, and their families, pursue an interest in music.

Bach to Rock Severna Park offers programs for students of all ages including individual and group lessons in piano, voice, guitar, drums and more; “Rock City” for preschoolers and “Rock and Roll” for toddlers; beginning piano “Kids n Keys” for children in grades K-2; and summer camps and birthday parties. Plus, students can get involved in a glee club or rock band. Bach to Rock also offers the Beat Refinery where students learn how to become DJs through practical and artistic training.
