Alpha Music Kicks Off Holiday Food Drive
Alpha Music's 'can-struction sculpture' of an electric bass and amplifier to promote its food drive.
Alpha Music, a 40-year-old combo music retailer based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, will kick off its holiday food drive on November 1 to benefit the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia and Eastern Shore.
“We have partnered with one of our amazing vendors, Ernie Ball Inc, to add some motivation” said Ginny Burgess, co-owner of Alpha Music. “With can donations, contributors can receive packs of guitar strings, instrument cables or T-shirts featuring the Ernie Ball brand.”
To create attention and a talking point, Burgess has created a can-struction sculpture of an electric bass and amplifier out of non-perishable food items like tuna, chicken, peanut butter and pasta.
Additionally, Alpha Music has posted a social media challenge to other local businesses to build their own Can-struction sculptures.
“We’re hoping the folks in our area will be motivated by a little friendly competition,” Burgess said. “A little bit from each of us adds up and goes a long way.”
