Ibanez’s Japanese Custom Shop team chose the name Sakura, meaning “cherry blossom” in Japanese, for its new JPCS32 bass. The inlay work on the bass involved individually cutting, sanding and seating more than 90 individual pieces of shell and wood. The inlay work, combined with the maple burl top and Yozakura Blue finish, combine to form a piece of functional artwork. Other features include matching pickup covers with cherry blossom inlay work and a maple burl mountain ridge headstock inlay.
