Gretsch has worked with drummer Ash Soan to create the Ash Soan Signature Snare Drum. Working at his Windmill Recording Studio, Soan has a variety of sonic goals and this new drum provides everything he requires to meet the needs of his clients. This new snare drum features a nine-ply, 7- by 12-inch Purpleheart shell finished in clear gloss lacquer. Its double 45-degree bearing edges increases the attack, creating an ultra-cutting crack. Additional features based on Ash’s specs include the 4-millimeter die cast hoops and the brand’s classic lightning throw-off.
