MARCH 6 I SAM ASH MUSIC I PHILANTHROPY
Sam Ash
Gives Back
Sam Ash Music has supported musicians in recent months through donations of an instrument and gift cards. The recipients received the donations on Steve Harvey's and Harry Connick Jr.'s talk shows.
"At Sam Ash Music, putting instruments in the hands of musicians is our No. 1 priority," read a company statement. "Our legacy in this community is something that we cherish and keep close. With that in mind, anytime we can give back to the community is a gift."
In October, Sam Ash donated a $5,000 gift card to help a talented drummer, Sheriff Drumman, update his gear. Sam Ash also gave away a Schecter Hellraiser C-1 to a young guitarist in February.
"You all know when we find somebody that's got some serious talent, I just have to share it with you," Harvey said on his show, referring to the 13-year-old heavy-metal guitarist, Lenore. She stated she was saving up for an upgraded electric but spent the money she had saved on a rabbit in need.
Connick had Asia Hickman on his show in September 2017 when she was presented with a check from Sam Ash. The company donated $5,000 to Hickman's nonprofit, Asia Hickman Music, which provides free music lessons to underprivileged youth worldwide.
"At Sam Ash, we've always believed that music makes the difference," the release read. "We are very grateful for all that we've been able to accomplish in these 90-plus years, and we are continually grateful for anytime that we can give something back."
