Vic's Drum Shop Hosts Slipknot Drummer

Vic's Drum Shop hosted Slipknot's drummer Jay Weinberg on April 18 for a free, in-depth workshop featuring Roland's latest V-Drums kit, the TD-50V.

"The event was fantastic, it was really generous of Jay Weinberg and Roland to put this on with us," said Kevin Jensen, general manager of Vic's Drum Shop. "We packed the room, as we anticipated, but it was still great to see it."

Weinberg played a handful of songs on the TD-50V to a crowd of about 40 before answering any questions that attendees had for him.

"I often feel like I forget that I'm playing on electronic drums, I really do feel like I get to lose myself like I do when I'm playing acoustic drums," Weinberg said, regarding the TD-50V. "It's a real testament to the massive development that Roland's done."

After the session, stick bags and drum sticks were raffled off to attendees.

"Vic's has been a real loyal and great partner of ours for a really long time, and we felt like we couldn't think of a better venue in the area," said Dave Dickerson, Roland's regional sales manager, eastern U.S. "We're really happy to be a part of it."
