DC Council Passes 'Middle C Music Day' Resolution

Middle C Music celebrated 15 years of serving the Washington region with the D.C. Council passing a resolution that marked March 25, 2017, as 'Middle C Music Day' in the District of Columbia.

"I thought that they would possibly pass a resolution honoring us, I didn't know that they were going to make it Middle C Music Day," said Myrna Sislen, owner of Middle C Music. "That was pretty amazing."

Although the store's actual birthday is on March 22, the party will be held on Saturday, March 25. Middle C Music will celebrate both of its anniversary and the passing of the resolution with a contest for customers to make a video on how Middle C Music has impacted their lives. The big prize for the contest is a $1,550 electric guitar donated from Yamaha, Sislen said. Kala Brand Music, The Music Link, Cordoba, and D'Addario also donated.

"There will be gifts for everyone, music all day, food, and there will be general merriment throughout this entire city," Sislen said.
