Guitar Center Closes Location, Opens Another
Guitar Center closed its Terre Haute, Indiana, location on March 22 after 10 years of business.

Eric Hopkins, customer service manager at the Terre Haute store told the Tribune Star that employees were notified at 8 a.m. that morning that the store would close by the end of the day.

"I understand that it is due to lease issues," Hopkins said. "I would like to relocate to another store. It is a great company. It is unfortunate what has happened here, but you have to adapt and overcome."

The Terre Haute store had 11 employees.

"We did not make this decision lightly," GC representative Syvetril Perryman told the Tribune Star. "We sincerely appreciate having been able to serve the local music community in Terre Haute and the surrounding area."

GC said it is "working with our local associates to find other opportunities within our network of stores."

On April 21, Guitar Center opened its 272 location in Selden, New York. The new store covers 11,000 square feet and features Guitar Center Lessons, GC Repairs, as well as GC Rentals.
