APRIL 7 I ARTIPHON I PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Artiphon Kickstarter Campaign Exceeds $1M

Artiphon — the company that has been developing a digital multi-instrument since 2011 — launched a Kickstarter campaign on March 3 to continue funding for its INSTRUMENT 1, with an initial goal of $75,000.

As of last Monday, March 30, the company exceeded the $1 million mark, blowing past its initial goal by more than tenfold. Artiphon's INSTRUMENT 1 now has more than 2,800 backers on Kickstarter, with 24 pledging in the highest denomination of $1,299 or more, as of April 8.

In an introductory video explaining the INSTRUMENT 1, Mike Butera, Artiphon's founder and CEO, states, "Traditionally, an instrument is played in one way. We've created an instrument that adapts to you, and you can play however you want — any position, any style, any sound.

"For the past four years we've been developing this technology and refining our prototypes in Nashville, Tennessee, and exploring this concept with musicians from around the world. The result is a beautiful, minimal, ergonomic design that's so much fun to play. We're at a really exciting time for musical expression, and the possibilities are limitless."

Funding for the project will occur on April 12 at 10 PM.
