MAY 20 | IN MEMORIAM I KAY KOSTER Veteran retailer and guitar repair expert Kay Koster passed away on May 7. She was 95. Koster started her own business in 1940 and continued to repair guitars and amps for decades after she closed her retail store, Koster Guitar Center in Rockford, Illinois which was one of the first stores in the country to be devoted primarily to guitars. As the Fender line developed, Koster was one of the first dealers in Illinois and became an expert on electric guitar repairs. Click here for Koster's 2006 NAMM oral history interview.
