APRIL 23 I OVATION I CLOSING The Ovation guitar factory in New Hartford, Conn., is closing after 47 years. Fender Music Instruments Corp., which owns Ovation guitars, will cease U.S. production by June, according to a report by the Republican-American of Waterbury. The company has cited “current market conditions and insufficient volume levels.” Ovation guitars was created in 1966 by the Charles Kaman, founder of aerospace company Kaman Corp.
