NAMM Sees
Exhibitor Increase

The numbers are in and NAMM is reporting that The 2014 NAMM Show in Anaheim, Calif., held Jan. 23–26, saw the second highest number of exhibiting companies ever with 1,533 companies representing 5,010 brands.

GoPro and Matsikas Music House were only two of the 303 new exhibitors at the show, many of which came from new technology-driven categories entering the music market, according to a NAMM press release. The show also saw a 2 percent increase in buyers over the 2013 edition. In total, 96,129 members of the musical products industry registered for the show.

The total number of international attendees also increased 6 percent. Notably, the 636 exhibiting companies that hailed from outside the U.S. made up over one-third of all exhibitors.

“As the global platform for the music products industry, The NAMM Show is an annual checkup for what is happening in the music marketplace worldwide,” said Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM. “A focus on doing business reflected confidence among buyers and manufacturers alike. Fortified with NAMM U education, networking and fun opportunities that only occur at The NAMM Show, NAMM members expressed to me a renewed spirit for the year ahead. I believe that the stage is set for growth in 2014.”

Summer NAMM will be held July 17–19 in Nashville, Tenn., at the Music City Center.
