NOV. 19 I MUSIC & ARTS I APPOINTMENT
Music & Arts Appoints
New President

Music & Arts has named Stephen Zapf as its new president. A seasoned professional in the MI industry, Zapf will report to company CEO Kenny O’Brien.

"We’re thrilled to welcome Steve to our executive team," O'Brien said. "He brings valuable insight, experience and a winning track record in e-commerce and multi-channel retail. The addition of his strategic leadership, industry knowledge, and unique skillset positions us well for aggressive growth — including new locations, services and businesses that meet the needs of musicians and music educators everywhere."

In addition to Zapf’s appointment, Music & Arts also announced that The Woodwind & Brasswind, a direct supplier of band and orchestral instruments, will join Music & Arts as a new business. Along with his duties at Music & Arts, Zapf will oversee The Woodwind & Brasswind.

"It’s a true privilege to again work with Kenny, and the team at Music & Arts," Zapf said. "Their dedication to driving growth in music and music education is inspiring and consistent with my own lifelong passion."

Zapf previously served as executive vice president of multi-channel operations for Guitar Center. Prior to this role, he was executive vice president of sales and marketing at Musician’s Friend and Guitar Center.

Zapf grew up working in his family business, Zapf’s Music, which was eventually sold. With his brother Rich, Zapf founded Zapf's Music123.com, which exceeded $60 million in direct sales before they sold it to Guitar Center.
