AUG. 16 I WILLIS MUSIC I PROMOTION
Willis Celebrated as 'So Cincinnati'
Willis Music recently got a big plug from local CBS affiliate WKRC. The television station featured the Florence, Ky.-based dealership in “So Cincinnati,” a regular segment that celebrates local color. The 3-minute piece discussed the company’s legacy in Cincinnati and featured a short interview with Willis President Kevin Cranley.
“If someone in your family has ever studied piano or just about any other instrument, there’s a good chance they learned how to play thanks to a Cincinnati company, Willis Music,” said the reporter.
Christy Schutte, the dealership’s public relations manager, scored the segment after pitching the station via e-mail, explaining Willis Music’s most recent news and company history.
“I came up with a few catchy sentences about something that was going on timely with Willis Music and Cincinnati,” she said. “This was the fact that Willis Music had just partnered with the Cincinnati Reds and Yamaha for new keyboards and an organ at Great American Ball Park. I mentioned that Willis Music has been in Cincinnati for over nearly 114 years.”
She added that she also brought up the company’s publishing business and that “John Thompson publications are the most widely used worldwide.”
