DEC. 6 I XCHANGE I TECHNOLOGY The Xchange Market Corp. has launched the Xchange Market Platform (XMP), a serial code point-of-sale activation system for software companies that do business with brick-and-mortar resellers. XMP provides instant access to the full product range of a music store's software suppliers. At purchase, customers are given a unique serial code, which lets them unlock and download software from the manufacturer's website. Xchange Market Corp. Chairman Steve Garth said that Antare, Acoustic, FXpansion and Innovative Music Systems have already signed up for the program. "It is important to note that software manufacturers can be secure in the knowledge that we are independent and not in the business of developing competing software products," Garth said.
