Tech Awards to Be Held at NAMM

The 26th annual Technical Excellence and Creativity (TEC) Awards will be held at this year's The NAMM Show in Anaheim, Calif., on Jan. 14.

The night's top honor, the Les Paul Award, will go to multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Lindsey Buckingham, and the award will be presented by Al Schmitt of Ray Charles, Steely Dan and Diana Krall fame; Elliot Scheiner of Paul Simon fame; and Ken Caillat of Fleetwood Mac fame. The Les Paul Award is presented annually to artists and others whose body of work exemplifies the creative application of audio technology.

Several other presenters will hand out awards in 25 categories of technical and creative achievements, including Chad Smith, Alan Parsons, Ken Scott, Ed Cherney and Dylan Dresdow. Guest artists scheduled to perform include David Pack of Ambrosia, David Jenkins of Pablo Cruise and Brian Hardgroove of Public Enemy.
