JULY 20 I MUSIC FREIGHT I CLOSING Music Freight has closed and is no longer administering discounts on freight using ABF, Con-way Freight, Estes, R&L and SAIA, according to a statement from NAMM. PartnerShip, a NAMM-endorsed business provider, has stepped in to help music retailers. NAMM has requested that service staff from PartnerShip contact music retailers to help address any open issues or questions regarding Music Freight, including open or outstanding invoices, status of shipments that may be in transit, how to maintain current carriers and discounts, future needs of any anticipated shipments, and how to contact vendors or customers to change any routings. According to NAMM, PartnerShip offers comparable rates with national LTL carriers similar to Music Freight. Nick Isasi, founder of Music Freight, declined to comment about the closing.
