JULY 23 I MUSIC INC. I AWARDS
Music Inc. Wins for Editorial Excellence

The music industry’s leading business magazine takes home three awards, including best feature story in the nation

Music Inc. magazine received three major awards on July 22 from the American Society of Business Publication Editors, a national association for business magazines.

Columnist Greg Billings won the National Gold Award for Editorial Excellence in Feature Writing for his article “What Went Wrong With the Piano Industry.” Editor Zach Phillips received a regional Gold Award for Editorial Excellence for his editorials “When to Automate” and “Year of the Music Lesson.” And Art Director Andy Williams won a regional Bronze Award for Graphic Excellence for his computer-generated opening spread on the feature “The Virtual Drummer.”

“This was an incredible evening for Music Inc.,” said Frank Alkyer, Music Inc.’s publisher. “Zach and Andy both received well-deserved recognition, and Greg’s article certainly deserved being named the best business feature in the nation for last year. He put an immense amount of research, thought and work into that article. All three exhibit a love and dedication to the musical products industry and to journalism. We couldn’t be more proud.”
