Tobias Music in Downers Grove, Ill., donated a new Taylor Solidbody electric guitar as a giveaway for the Education Foundation for Grade School District 58’s concert on May 14.

The concert featured the Bacon Brothers Band, which includes actor Kevin Bacon and his brother, Michael.

“We decided to get involved with the event because we knew that the Bacons are big fans of Taylor Guitars and use them in their concerts,” said Paul Tobias, owner of Tobias Music. “We sold tickets here at the shop and also had a table set up in the lobby at the show to get some last-minute sales.”

The concert, held at Tivoli Theatre in Downers Grove, was attended by roughly 700 people and raised about $3,000 for the school district.

Before the concert started, Tobias Music also received a visit from the Bacon Brothers Band.

“You should have seen the look on one of our customer’s face when she walked in and found Michael and Kevin playing guitars in here,” Tobias said. “It was priceless.”
