MAY 5 I RETAIL NEWS I APPOINTMENTS
New Hires in Audio Retail

Two audio retail giants, Full Compass and Sweetwater Sound, have announced new hires this spring.

Full Compass in Madison, Wis., has named Tom Farley as its new advertising and marketing manager. He has more than 15 years of experience in worldwide marketing and has worked at financial institutions, such as Citibank, Bear Stearns and KPMG.

“Tom brings a breadth and depth of experience, along with skills that are incredibly unique and hard to find in this community,” said Roxanne Wenzel, director of sales and marketing. “Because Tom understands both the global marketplace and our local and corporate cultures, he will be able to fit into our company very quickly and help us continue to grow our business.”

Sweetwater Sound in Fort Wayne, Ind., has hired 14 new employees, including four new sales engineers. These new additions bring the total employment at Sweetwater to 369.

“Sweetwater continues to invest in its workforce, particularly in the sales area,” said Chuck Surack, Sweetwater founder and president. “With some indication that the economy is turning around, we are increasingly optimistic about the future of the music technology and instrument retail market and the continued growth of Sweetwater.”

In addition to the four sales engineers, Sweetwater has added to its technical support, Web programming, guitar technician and shipping specialist fields.
