Yamaha Names
New President

Takuya Nakata has been named president of Yamaha Corp. of America. He succeeds Hogan Osawa, who will return to Yamaha Corp. Japan to lead the AV division. Osawa will also continue as executive officer of Yamaha.

Nakata joined Nippon Gakki in 1981 before the company changed its name to Yamaha in 1987. He was responsible for product planning and development of electrical musical instruments. Most recently, Nakata was promoted to director and executive officer of Yamaha. The president position in America will be Nakata’s first post outside of Japan.

“As we celebrate Yamaha’s 50th anniversary in the United States this year, I look forward to building upon our company’s legacy of unparalleled quality and technological innovation,” Nakata said. “We will aim to advance the goal of One Yamaha through the efficient use of resources and continued focus on the customer.” MI
