Heil Sound's Double-Digit Sales Boost

Heil Sound has reported a double-digit sales increase for 2009. Company owner Bob Heil attributed the increase to a back-to-basics business approach and making dealers a priority. Both Heil and his wife, Sarah, make it a goal to call five dealers a day from the company headquarters in Fairview Heights, Ill.

“Sarah and I love talking to our dealers, and response has been gratifying,” Heil said. “When I’m on the phone, it gives dealers a chance to talk shop with the guy who designs the products. That’s rare in this day and age, and they appreciated it immensely."

According to Heil, the phone calls give dealers a “friend at the factory,” which they find useful when placing orders or bringing up other sales issues.

“Heil Sound operated mean and lean in 2009,” said Sarah, who serves as Heil Sound’s vice president. “Everyone who works at Heil Sound worked as a team. We all have a commitment to maintain the level of quality and service that our customers have come to expect since 1966. 2010 is starting off in the same fabulous direction.” MI
