Jacobs Makes
$1M Steinway Sale
Jacobs Music of Philadelphia recently completed a $1 million sale of Steinway pianos to Rowan University, making the Glassboro, N.J.-based college an all-Steinway school.
Mark Love, Jacobs Music’s senior vice president, said that the sale was six years in the making and “seemed as if it would never happen.”
“But, even [in] this difficult economy, quality and excellence will find a place and prosper, and I am struck by how it is clear that right now it is even more important to make the right decision on the best equipment and the instruments that, over time, will truly cost less and be a better investment while providing numerous intangible and tangible benefits.”
“We brought in more than 40 new pianos and added to the Steinways that we have acquired little by little over the last 10 years,” said Veda Zuponic, a professor of music at Rowan University. “We now have something like 55 Steinway pianos.”
