Paul Reed Smith Gets
New Job at PRS

Joseph Knaggs, director of R&D and Private Stock for PRS Guitars, has decided to leave PRS to launch his own artistic endeavor. On July 1, Paul Reed Smith assumed management of PRS Guitars’ Private Stock department.

“I grew up with Joe,” Smith said. “He has been with the company for decades, and I wish him the very best.”

The Private Stock department seeks to raise the bar through material choice; personalized specifications; and the careful, trained eyes of a small group of specialty luthiers. It has been described as “a business inside a business.”

Smith said he has plans to grow the Private Stock department with many Private Stock activities planned for the “Experience PRS” event to be held in September.

“I am looking forward to the opportunity to build guitars again,” Smith said.
