Fender Appoints Thomas to Board of Directors

Fender has appointed Larry Thomas to its board of directors. In addition to his board responsibilities, Thomas will also serve as chairman of The Fender Music Foundation.

Thomas brings nearly 40 years of music industry experience to Fender, most recently as chairman and CEO of Guitar Center and founder of The Guitar Center Music Foundation. As part of his recent appointment, Thomas has reintroduced The Guitar Center Music Foundation as The Fender Music Foundation.

“I’ve admired Fender as a company since the days of Leo Fender, and I look forward to contributing to future success,” Thomas said. “I’m also especially grateful for the support Fender has given my foundation, continuing our efforts to bring the music industry together for this cause that has been so important to me throughout my career.”

In addition to his new appointment and position on the board of The Fender Music Foundation, Thomas serves on several music-related boards, including the USC Thornton School of Music, the American Music Conference and the California Music Project.
