JUNE 4 I HAL LEONARD I ACQUISITION Hal Leonard has acquired a majority equity position in Holland-based publisher De Haske. At this year’s Frankfurt Musikmesse, Hal Leonard President Larry Morton and De Haske co-directors Jan de Haan and Garmt Van der Veen announced that they had reached an agreement in principle. The deal was finalized on May 29. de Haan has sold his shares in the company, while Van der Veen has retained a minority equity position. Both co-directors will retain creative and leadership roles at De Haske. Hal Leonard Senior Vice President Herman Knoll has moved to Holland to oversee the ownership transition.
