TC Group, Gibson Discontinue Merger Talks

Gibson Guitar and TC Group have discontinued discussions regarding a potential merger between the two companies. According to a statement from TC, the decision followed an intensive effort by both parties to consummate the deal within the targeted timeline, but a number of issues remained unresolved, and both Gibson and TC agreed it was best that the merger proceedings not continue.

"There were certainly some exciting opportunities to be explored between TC Group and Gibson, but as with any potential merger, there is the possibility that the details cannot be ironed out," said Anders Fauerskov, CEO of TC. "Our ambitions for the TC Group companies continue to be very strong, and we will continue to deliver the quality products our customers have come to know and expect."
