D’Addario Calls Back Planet Waves Humidipak Products

Planet Waves has discovered a potential manufacturer’s defect related to the film lining of Humidipak packettes. This possible defect in the film lining is applicable to all Planet Waves Humidipak two-way Humidity Control System products for fretted and bowed instruments. Humidipak products offered under the name of Rico Reed Vitalizer are not affected.

Planet Waves has requested that all unopened foil packettes be returned to it directly, although it said in a statement that it expects the number of defective product to be minimal. In the meantime, D’Addario has personally notified all applicable dealers to return the product and has implemented an immediate consumer awareness program.

“D’Addario apologizes for any inconvenience this has caused and will be in contact once a permanent solution is identified,” the statement said.
