M&A Acquires
Two in MA
Music and Arts Center has completed the acquisitions of Massachusetts-based Newton Centre Music and Scotti Piano and Music.
Newton Centre Music is based in Newton, Mass., and Scotti Piano and Music is based in Peabody, Mass. The addition of the Newton and Peabody locations — both in the Boston area — enhances Music and Arts' New England presence, and it brings the chain's Massachusetts total to five stores.
Music and Arts will operate the former Newton and Peabody locations as full-line retail stores, including instrument and accessory sales, instrument rentals and private music lessons. Music and Arts will supplement the current retail selection with a full line of band and orchestra products, as well as guitars, keyboards and drum sets. As is traditional with both locations, Music and Arts will continue to carry a full line of printed sheet music and will cater to the educators in the area.
Music and Arts Center, a division of Guitar Center, now has 88 stores.
